Restoration and Conservation
The Wheelwright Shop undertakes conservation and restoration of all forms of wooden-bodied and wooden-framed transport.
Whether it's a horse-drawn vehicle, tram or railway carriage we have extensive experience in its conservation or restoration.
As a full-time wheelwright workshop we manage many restoration projects and employ state-of-the-art conservation materials and techniques.
Conservation Reports
The Wheelwright Shop provides reports to assist with grant applications for the conservation of wooden-bodied or wooden-framed vehicles. We will also project manage the conservation. Our reports detail the vehicle in question - its history, current condition, intended use and detailed documentation of the planned conservation. Our documentation includes the order of work and the methods and materials to be employed.
A conservation report is essential to ensure a successful project, whatever the intended final use of the conserved vehicle. There are grants available from various NZ trusts and organisations - we can assist with conservation grant applications.
